Weight loss: Dr Michael Mosley shares best diet plan for weight loss

Dr Michael Mosley often shares his weight loss tips with slimmers online as well as on television. He is the creator of The Fast 800 – a diet plan that helps people lose weight quickly.

Dr Mosley continued: “As we get older our immune system tends to get weaker and less effective.

“So, what can you do to keep yours in good shape and ready to take on all corners?

“One way is to bolster your microbiome, the microbes that live in your gut.

“They are central to our health, our mood, better sleep, allergy prevention, and importantly at the moment – immunity.

Dr Mosley stressed that the Mediterranean diet contains plenty of vegetables, fruit, whole grains, lentils, beans, nuts, seeds, spices, and olive oil.

Other Mediterranean ingredients include oily fish, cheese, and full-fat yoghurt.

Another diet Dr Mosley recommended following was a low-carb diet.

He said: “Not all carbs are created equal – just as there are good fats and bad fats, there are good carbs and bad carbs.

“The trick is not to cut carbs completely, but rather to be choosy about the ones you regularly eat.”

Dr Mosley recommended cutting “white bread, white pasta, potatoes and sugars, including maple syrup and agave nectar” out of your diet.

“They are easily digestible carbohydrates, meaning they are rapidly absorbed by the body, creating a big spike in your blood-sugar levels,” the doctor explained.
