It may be my escalating age or maybe I don’t get out enough (I can blame Covid-19 for that) but I am often mystified by what people buy to decorate their homes. Wooden blocks printed with “Home” have me perplexed, but not as much as cellophane packs of twigs stuffed into vases and given prime position in the lounge where, presumably, they are received with delight by the resident spiders.

While I can appreciate the look of these in a minimal lounge, it makes no sense to me to buy dead twigs shipped from China when for half the cost you could grow your own and be able to replace them every year, along with the cobwebs.
