Green-fingered police praised for Thin Blue Line community garden


Police from Uttoxeter have helped a community garden project to land an outstanding award.

The officers created a ‘The Thin Blue Line’ themed garden at Uttoxeter Health Community Centre.

The community garden was awarded a score of 89 out of 100 when it was judged by Royal Horticulture Society Community Gardening in July, enough to secure an ‘Level 5- Outstanding’ award.

East Staffordshire Police said in a statement on Facebook on Thursday night: “What can we say…….

“Officers from #UttoxeterLPT have been involved with a Community Garden Project Uttoxeter Heath Community Centre.

“The officers created a garden with the theme of ‘The Thin Blue Line’.

“The whole Community Garden was judged by RHS Community Gardening back in July, and we are pleased to announce that the whole project scored 89 out of 100 and received an ‘ OUTSTANDING’ Award!! We would like to congratulate all other plot holders and all involved in the project!”
