People in one Merseyside town have been told to “move out” of the area they live in if they dislike it.
One man, who lives in Southport, has become fed up with people who live in the town “moaning” about it.
Posting in a Facebook group, he said: “Why certain people slate Southport so much in some of the comments I read on here stuns me.
“We are very lucky living in Southport. I was born and bred here.
“Every high street up and down the country is struggling [not just Southport].
“Southport is visited by tens of thousands of tourists who come here from other places where there is little to do.
“We have plenty for families, beautiful parks, Pleasureland, our coastline, beautiful buildings, historic villages, the list goes on.
“Anybody who lives here and isn’t happy about that should move away instead of moaning about it.
“I love our town.”
People have been quick to respond to the post – which has been liked and commented on hundreds of times.
Some compared Southport with other parts of the country.
One man said: “Southport is my home town and since moving to Essex eight years ago… living near London is amazing but they don’t know the two and a half [hours] it takes just to drive to the centre or how expensive it is.
