Clara Amfo takes home Weakest Link Strictly crown saying she ‘can’t believe it’

December 18, 2021

BBC Radio One presenter Clara Amfo got emotional this evening after taking home the big prize on a Strictly Come Dancing special of The Weakest Link.

Comedian Romesh Ranganathan stepped into Anne Robinson’s shoes as the show’s host, in the programme that started tonight at 6.10pm on BBC One before the Strictly Come Dancing grand finale.

Radio DJ Clara faced off against radio and television presenter Ore Oduba – best known for winning the fourteenth series of Strictly in 2016.

Clara was a contestant on the eighteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2020.

She was partnered with Aljaž Škorjanec and was eliminated in weeks six of the competition; her elimination was described by judge Motsi Mabuse as the “toughest decision” of the series.

On her Weakest Link win Clara said: “It feels so surreal to win the Weakest Link, it is a show I’ve always loved. I thought I was going to be out round three or four so delighted. I can’t believe I’ve won!”

She won a huge prize of £9,750, which will be donated to the charity ‘ Refuge ‘.

The Strictly and Christmas Specials and all subsequent episodes of The Weakest Link will also become available on BBCiPlayer shortly after they air.
